Bookkeeper / Accountant (Accounting firm) - Hillcrest

Introduction Are you looking for an opportunity to join a stable, professional Accounting firm? Be part of the team that partners with clients in managing their financial affairs and growing their business. Min 5 years experience in an accounting / bookkeeping role preparing monthly management accounts, tax returns and ability to advise and assist clients with the guidance of the partners. Enjoy working in a team environment.

Responsbilities inlcude:

  • Ensure the accurate preparation of management accounts and year end Annual Financial Statements for presentation to directors of various organisations;

  • Assist with the setting of budgets for clients; and

  • Administer the control/audit requirements associated with these processes.

  • Supervise sub-ordinates and ensure that their work is adequately planned.

  • Preparation of taxation returns and assistance with provisional tax estimates.

Desired Experience & Qualification Experience in Xero, Pastel Accounting, Payspace and/or VIP Payroll. Experience in Caseware would be an advantage. Minimum 5 years relevant working experience. Computer literacy (Microsoft Office). BComm (or equivalent) and SAICA/SAIPA articles would be an advantage. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Technically competent, i.e. Accounting knowledge through to Annual Financial Statements.

  • Knowledge of accounting packages – Xero, Pastel Accounting

  • Knowledge of payroll packages – Payspace, VIP Payroll.

  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Excel.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage a large work load.

  • Good leadership/management skills.

  • Ability to delegate.

  • Strong strategic thinking ability.

  • Ability to adapt to different situations easily.

  • Ability to think out the box.

Package & Remuneration R25 000 to R30 000 depending on experience.
